DESCRIPTION:ATENCIÓ! Castanets ha suspès la seua gira europea i consegüentment no actuarà a l’Octubre. Davant la impossibilitat de trobar un substitut amb tan escàs marge de temps\, aquest divendres no hi haurà concert en el Cicle de Pop.   Castanets és el projecte musical de Raymond Raposa\, un natiu de San Diego que actualment resideix a Portland. Raposa és l’únic membre constant en la banda\, mentre que en els discos i directes sovint es fa acompanyar per músics que mai són els mateixos\, i que fins i tot poden canviar d’una nit a la següent en una mateixa gira.   Castanets van ser una de les propostes més prominents del dit moviment “freak folk”\, també conegut com folk psiquedèlic que va entrar en l’escena musical dels Estats Units el 2003. Texas Rose\, the Beasts\, and the Thaw (Asthmatic Kitty) és el seu darrer àlbum publicat el 2009\, el cinquè d’estudi\, un càlid homenatge al Sud profund. A través de la barreja de tècniques\, instruments i gèneres\, Raposa ha creat l’ambient musical perfecte per a la seua veu\, que guia l’oient a través de la foscor. Amb un toc blues i un sentiment de melancolia fàcilment identificable\, Raposa conjura una imatge desolada del que queda quan tothom ha marxat i ja no queda res.
